Great silver tone, you need to tell me how you got it.

    • Thanks! A few factors — first, the girl on the bike is painted silver, which helps to start with. As for the overall effect: reduce the midtone contrast and darken the highlights — enough to make it feel a little out of focus, but not enough to lose any detail. then sharpen the normal contrast just a bit. Then bring down overall lightness — this is where you start to get the silver gelatin look, but it will seem too dark. Increase brightness till it feels comfortable, then fiddle with the contrast (normal and/or midtone) till you are happy with the end result. And voila! Depending on the original light conditions, this may or may not work out well — you may lose too much detail in the process.
