    i hope i am able to catch a poetry reading while in nola.. your picture is poetic….

    • thank you! check the online calendar to be sure, but there is usually a poetry reading followed by an excellent open mic segment every Thursday night at the Gold Mine. I am usually there for my little art exercise — i sit and sketch the poets, and sometimes take a pic, like this one. dave brinks, the guy in the picture, is the head honcho, along with his wife and fellow poet megan burns. they are very talented poets and very nice people.

        Great.. I’ll be there Apr 5th & that’s a Thursday. since I’m coming in solo I have to maneuver my way there from the quarter…this is great news, def going to pencil it in..Thanks for the info!!

  2. it’s IN the quarter, so there will be little maneuvering involved! check the schedule as the date approaches just to be sure it’s on for that night, but i expect it will be.
